Informelles Lernen ist Lernen, das im Alltag, am Arbeitsplatz, im Familienkreis oder in der Freizeit stattfindet. Es ist (in Bezug auf Lernziele, Lernzeit oder Lernförderung) nicht strukturiert und führt üblicherweise nicht zur Zertifizierung. Informelles Lernen kann zielgerichtet sein, ist jedoch in den meisten Fällen nicht intentional (oder beiläufig/ inzidentell).

Informal learning is the unofficial, unscheduled, impromptu way people learn to do their jobs. Learning is adaptation.Taking advantage of the double meaning of the word network, to learn is to optimize the quality of one’s networks. We learn from one another.

Informal Learning - Occurs in everyday life and may not even be recognized as learning by the individual. For example, using a television guide may not be equated by an individual as having learned how to use a table. Related concepts/terms include: incidental learning.
